Are you still here? Are you still watching?
I have to because it’s my job, but are you still watching this team?
The Chicago Blackhawks playoff hopes are dead with a loss to the Carolina Hurricanes tonight, 5-2 the final. Chicago is now 2-3-1 against the Hurricanes this season. The loss makes it five in-a-row for the Blackhawks as they wet the bed on their way out of the Central Division playoff chase to end this season.
The biggest highlight of the night to care about for Blackhawks fans was the reappearance of Collin Delia for the Blackhawks for the first time since January 17th. He relieved Malcolm Subban half-way through the game, with Chicago down 4-0, and made 19 saves on 19 shots. Gee, it’s almost like he has been waiting patiently for his redemption opportunity with the team for four months.
Ian Mitchell scored a goal, that was good for him. Alex DeBrincat scored a goal and extended his point-streak to four games, that’s good for him too.
Everything else was washed out against a vastly superior Hurricanes team that should do this again tomorrow night and on Thursday night to the Blackhawks. Get every kid into the lineup.
