Yesterday, the Blackhawks scored three goals in the first period against the Stars to propel them to an eventual 4-2 win. Tonight, one minute and 22 seconds into the first period, they are up 2-0 thanks to Alex DeBrincat and Pius Suter.

DeBrincat wasted no time extending his goal-streak to seven games and point-streak to eight games to finish the season on his first shift of the night. With 32 goals this year, he ties Connor McDavid for second in the NHL (for now) and his 32 goals in 52 games this season is on a 50-goal pace over an 82-game schedule and his 56 points in 52 games is an 88-point pace over a normal 82-game season, which would be a career-high.
Yeah, he also got an assist on the 2-0 goal, too.
Not to be out-done, Pius Suter netted his 14th goal of the season less than 30 seconds later to give the Blackhawks the 2-0 lead.

Suter leads all Blackhawks rookies in scoring this season with 27 points (for now) in 55 games this season after scoring the 2-0 goal and assisting on the DeBrincat goal. Over a normal 82-game season, that’s good for a 39-point pace. He ranks fifth in goals by rookies and sixth in points for all first-year players this season. His 14 goals are fourth on the Blackhawks.
Now that’s how you welcome fans back to the United Center!
