IceHogs Team Awards: D.J. Busdeker Named “Unsung Hero”

With the AHL season over, the Rockford IceHogs are rolling out their 2021 Team Awards this week. Already naming the Most Improved Player and the Heavy Hitter of the year, today the IceHogs are handing out the “Unsung Hero” Award.

And your winner is….

D.J. Busdeker!

Busdeker made his professional debut this season after playing four seasons in the OHL with the Saginaw Spirit. He finished the season with five goals and 12 points in 24 AHL games with the IceHogs this season, as well as two goals and four points in seven ECHL games with the Indy Fuel.

Busdeker’s 12 points were tied for fifth on the team and were tied for third-most amongst Rockford rookies this season.
