And then there were three.
The Chicago Blackhawks will have three players in the IIHF World Championships Gold Medal game on Sunday, as Team Canada takes on Team Finland in a rematch of the last Gold Medal game from 2019.
Brandon Hagel, Brandon Pirri, and Nicolas Beaudin will have a chance at their first ever international Gold Medals with Canada after defeating Team USA 4-2 in the Semifinal. Pirri got Canada on the board first in the semifinal game with a goal in the opening three minutes.

Canada started the tournament 0-3 with all three losses coming in regulation. Now they find themselves facing the same Finnish side that dispatched them in the Gold Medal game in 2019, a team that was led in net by Kevin Lankinen.
In the second semifinal game, Finland topped Germany 2-1. Blackhawks prospect Lukas Reichel and Germany fell behind 2-0 in the first period before cutting the Finns lead to 2-1 in the second, but were unable to complete the comeback.
Germany and the United States will play in the Bronze Medal game earlier on Sunday at 7:15 a.m. CT before Finland and Canada play for Gold at 12:15 p.m. CT.
