Read This Now Before All the Kraken Expansion Draft Info Is Out Of Date (And Other Blackhawks Bullets)
Ok so real quick, it’s Seattle Kraken Expansion Draft day and all the insiders a breaking all the news so I’m going to do my best to recap the morning before the entire Seattle roster is revealed by noon.
• First and foremost, Carey Price will not be going to Seattle.

• Super bummer.
• Next, Dougie Hamilton will also not be heading to Seattle, for now.
The Kraken had talks with Dougie Hamilton's camp but ultimately that did not lead to a contract, source says. So he won't be among the Seattle picks in the expansion draft. Doesn't mean Seattle can't circle back July 28 when the market opens for everyone.@TSNHockey @TheAthletic

• But another free agent defenseman will be as Adam Larsson has a deal with the Kraken.
Further to Frank's reporting, Adam Larsson has a four-year deal with #SeaKraken — hearing it'll be a $4M AAV.
Seattle locked him during its exclusive UFA/RFA interview period. https://t.co/7HAV5aVD3C

• Keep an eye out for Oleksiak, too.
• It appears that the Kraken may have their future Captain lined up. Calgary’s Mark Giordano is headed to Seattle.
BREAKING – I can confirm that the Seattle Kraken have chosen Calgary Flames captain Mark Giordano as their pick at the Expansion Draft, to be announced this evening.

• After being traded to the Maple Leafs a few days ago, Jared McCann will be headed to Seattle.
His stay was short-lived in Toronto. The #SeaKraken will be selecting Jared McCann from the #Leafs.
The end result: Toronto traded prospect Filip Hallander and a 7th round pick to Pittsburgh to essentially protect their roster from Seattle.@DFOHockey

• Another big name that is apparently not head to the Kraken, Blues forward Vladimir Tarasenko.
Sources say #SeaKraken also passed on another high-profile, big money player: Vladimir Tarasenko.
Subject to change but sounds like the selection from #stlblues will be Vince Dunn.@DFOHockey

• Man, ESPN has to HATE this.
ESPN's first big NHL thing is going to be a draft in which we know all the selections before noon lmao
— Pete Blackburn (@PeteBlackburn) July 21, 2021
• The NHL schedule is set to be released tomorrow, also happening on ESPN, but we already have who the Golden Knights’ home opener will be against…
I’m hearing the Golden Knights’ opponent for the 2021-22 home opener is expected to be the Seattle Kraken.#VegasBorn #SeaKraken

• In free agency news, Bruins look to be closing in on an extension with Taylor Hall.
Hearing #NHLBruins have made meaningful progress with pending UFA Taylor Hall.
Expectation is Hall will indeed remain in Boston after the signing moratorium is lifted. Wouldn't be surprised to see a deal in the 4 years x $6 million neighborhood.
Stay tuned. @DFOHockey

• And while the Oilers have lost Adam Larsson, the are bringing back Mike Smith.
Expect a two-year deal in the $2M range. https://t.co/eTSCDFdwtW
— Chris Johnston (@reporterchris) July 21, 2021
• A two-year deal for 39-year-old Mike Smith, what could go wrong?
• Oilers also looking into a new deal with Tyson Barrie…
Oilers will re-engage with Tyson Barrie. There’s been preliminary discussion…expected to intensify with Larsson leaving. Term is going to be the sticking point for Barrie. Don’t think the Oil want to go to 5 years. Does 4 x $5mil get it done?
— Darren Dreger (@DarrenDreger) July 21, 2021
• Avalanche Captain Gabriel Landeskog, potentially not returning to Colorado, will at least not be going to Seattle either.
Seattle spoke with Landeskog’s camp, but no deal reached. Kraken will go with another Avs player
— David Pagnotta (@TheFourthPeriod) July 21, 2021
• As far as the Blackhawks go, it appears that Collin Delia and Malcolm Subban were not selected…
Sounds like the three goaltenders selected by #SeaKraken will be Chris Driedger (FLA), Vitek Vanecek (WSH) and Joey Daccord (OTT).@DFOHockey

• I sent out this tweet as humor. Some people do not understand humor and/or how the Expansion Draft works…
Hearing that the #Blackhawks will in fact have a player taken by Seattle tonight, although sources tell me the Kraken reached out to league offices to see if they could “pass”
We will see how this develops
— Mario Tirabassi (@Mario_Tirabassi) July 21, 2021
• For the record, they have to take a player from every team. Including the Blackhawks.
• Speaking of, vote on the poll before the Blackhawks pick gets leaked!
Who do the #SeaKraken take from the #Blackhawks tonight?
— Bleacher Nation Blackhawks (@BN_Blackhawks) July 21, 2021
• So far, leader in the clubhouse is Nikita Zadorov.
• We shall see where all this goes from here.
• Ok, shortest bullets post ever is done. Enjoy the breaking news all day and remember you can watch the Expansion Draft at 7:00 p.m. CT on ESPN2 and Sportsnet. Unless all the picks are leaked by then.
