Rockford is playing a 72-game schedule for the 2021-22 season, after having the option of playing 72 or 76 games this season. The AHL will be moving to a 72-game schedule for ALL teams starting next season.
The IceHogs open their 2021-22 season on the road against the Grand Rapids Griffins on October 15th. They are the opponent for the Chicago Wolves for Chicago’s home opener on October 16th. Rockford will have their first home game at the newly renovated BMO Harris Bank Center in Rockford on November 6th, taking on the Griffins. It will the be first of a five-game homestand to re-open the BMO.
Rockford has four meeting this season against the Henderson Silver Knights, the AHL affiliate for the Vegas Golden Knight (go figure) and it will be the first time the teams will face each other in franchise history. Two home games in December for Rockford against the Silver Knights and two road games in Henderson in April.
Rockford will close their regular season with three-straight home games on April 20th, 23rd-24th against the Griffins, Manitoba Moose, and Iowa Wild.
