The Chicago Blackhawks have made a roster move before tonight’s matchup with the Detroit Red Wings, recalling defenseman Ian Mitchell with the team battling multiple COVID-19 related absences on the roster and behind the bench.
Ian Mitchell has been recalled from Rockford and will play tonight.
Jujhar Khaira and Riley Stillman are out (COVID-19 protocol).
Assistant coach Marc Crawford is also in COVID-19 protocol and will not coach. #Blackhawks

The team also announced that forward Jujhar Khaira and defenseman Riley Stillman are out tonight with both in the COVID-19 protocols. Patrick Kane’s status for tonight is still unknown. Assistant coach Marc Crawford is also in the COVID-19 protocols and will not coach tonight against the Red Wings. Crawford joins fellow coach Ian Mitchell in the protocols.
This year, Ian Mitchell has one assist in one game with the Blackhawks but has been with the IceHogs since last week. Patrick Kane also appears to be out this evening.
Patrick Kane isn't on the ice warmups. It'll be the first time he's missed a game since the 2018-19 season. It'll just be his second missed game since the 2014-15 season he was out with his collarbone injury.
