Oh, boy. So, how about that Shane Wright kid?
With an early Detroit goal tonight, the Blackhawks (0-5-1) broke the NHL record for longest stretch of time without a lead to open their season (360 minutes and 57 seconds), overtaking the 1970 California Golden Seals, who went 324 minutes and 25 seconds without a lead 50+ years ago.
It was so bad tonight that the Blackhawks even started scoring goals FOR Detroit.
4-1 Wings. A Reese Johnson own goal on another loose puck in the crease. Upheld after review.
Every game on the Hawks' homestand has been 4-1, and not in their favor.

Shorthanded due to COVID-19 protocols, which kept Patrick Kane, Jujhar Khaira, Riley Stillman, and two coaches out of action, the Blackhawks were never in this game. Not really. And at this point, a change behind the bench seems like the bare minimum move to try to right the ship amid a historically bad and embarrassing start to the season. I know Emily Kaplan only just recently reported that the team is not yet considering moving on from Colliton, but it’s starting to feel like those tides can change quickly. Especially because the schedule will not be doing the Blackhawks any favors, with the next three games featuring matchups with Toronto, Carolina, and St. Louis.
This tweet from Jay Zawaski says it all.
From a scout friend (correcting earlier typo): “You know me, I work in this game. I’m pretty reserved & level-headed…Colliton needs to be relieved. And you must relieve the man who hired him. This thing is beyond repair & it needs to be cleaned really all the way to top down.”

We have Jeremy Colliton handing off the clipboard to players and “fire Colliton” chants ringing through the United Center tonight. This is rock bottom for the Blackhawks. Something has got to give here.
To go along with this, there's a "fire Colliton" chant going around the United Center. This is rock bottom… https://t.co/8k8V5MNOJt
