Back at home where the Blackhawks are winless in four games, Chicago plays host to the Ottawa Senators tonight. If the Blackhawks can play as they did on Saturday night against the Blues, they’ll have a good shot at stopping their season-opening losing streak at nine games tonight at the United Center. Marc-André Fleury is back in net for the Blackhawks this evening after putting together a masterful performance this weekend against St. Louis, and Patrick Kane might be back in the lineup after practicing this morning for the first time since in over a week due to being in the COVID-19 protocols.

What To Watch For
• The Blackhawks will have Marc-André Fleury in net for the second consecutive game, and why not after he put together an excellent 36-save performance against the NHL’s top-scoring offense by goals per game heading into Saturday’s matchup with the St. Louis Blues. Fleury was standing on his head, and he kept the Blackhawks in the game all night while carrying a shutout into the third period before St. Louis scored the lone goal of the game for either side. If Fleury can replicate his performance against the Blues, the Blackhawks have a good shot at picking up victory No. 1 on the season.
• Patrick Kane has missed the last four games while in the COVID-19 protocols, but he was on the ice and practicing with the team this morning. While Jeremy Colliton called Kane’s appearance “a surprise” and said he was still a game-time decision, the veteran forwards addition to the lineup will provide the Blackhawks with a much-needed boost. Kane tallied a goal and four assists in the first five games before hitting the protocols last Sunday.

Colliton says Kane has to be cleared of some tests before being able to play tonight. He also didn’t have an update on Tyler Johnson.
