Beaudin has skated in five games for the IceHogs this season, tallying three assists with eight shots on goal. He split time between the NHL and AHL last season, skating in nine games and recording two goals and ten points with Rockford, as well as making 19 appearances for the Blackhawks with two goals and six points.
Reese Johnson played 4:04 minutes in Wednesday night’s 4-3 loss to the Hurricanes and has the lowest expected goals-for percentage in the NHL at 20.89%. He has skated in six games for the Blackhawks this season without a point. He has three games played this year with the IceHogs, scoring a goal and an assist.
It will be interesting to see if/how Beaudin gets into the Blackhawks defensive lineup as both Caleb Jones and Wyatt Kalynuk appear close to coming back to health after missing the beginning of the season due to injuries. Beaudin has shown he can hang in the NHL in his small sample size of work and an opportunity to play while the Blackhawks are faltering is as good a time as any to give him some deserved NHL minutes.
