The Chicago Blackhawks have placed forward Adam Gaudette on waivers today. He will be open for selection by all 31 other NHL teams over the next 24 hours. If he clears, he’ll likely end up being sent to the Rockford IceHogs. Gaudette has skated in just eight games for Chicago this season, recording a goal and an assist.

Gaudette was acquired at the trade deadline last season from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for Matthew Highmore. After winning the Hobey Baker Award as the top college Men’s Hockey player in 2018, Gaudette skated in 153 games with Vancouver, tallying 21 goals and 52 points. After coming to Chicago late last season, Gaudette recorded a goal and four points in seven games. After re-signing with the Blackhawks on a one-year deal this offseason, Gaudette hasn’t found a permanent home in Chicago’s lineup and last played on November 9.
