Mitchell has skated in 15 games for the IceHogs this season, tallying two goals and seven points while playing top-minutes in the Rockford defensive group. The 22-year-old started the season with the Blackhawks, skating in three games in October and recording an assist on opening night against the Colorado Avalanche but was sent down after averaging just 8:36 minutes per game. A second-round pick in 2017, Mitchell has skated in 42 career NHL games for the Blackhawks over the past two seasons.
Chicago is in New York tonight to take on the Rangers. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m. CT.
