According to multiple reports, the Philadelphia Flyers became the latest team to fire their head coach this season. This was just hours after the Vancouver Canucks decided to clean house overnight, firing their entire leadership group.
Hearing #Flyers are making a coaching change. Alain Vigneault fired.

Philadelphia is 8-10-4 and in seventh place in the Metropolitan through its first 22 games. Despite the Flyers being 74-54-19 under Alain Vigneault, the team is skidding, losing eight consecutive games (0-6-2) heading into a matchup with the Colorado Avalanche later tonight. Alain Vigneault has won 722 games as an NHL head coach, spending time with the Montreal Canadiens, Vancouver Canucks, New York Rangers, and most recently, the Philadelphia Flyers, taking the Cancucks (2010-11) and the New York Rangers (2013-14) to the Stanley Cup Finals during his career.
With the Chicago Blackhawks likely needing a new head coach after this season, the sudden rash of firings, and more specifically, teams who will also be looking for new head coaches, doesn’t bode well for the Blackhawks.
No interim head coach has been named for the Flyers as of publishing for this post.
