We have some good news to share this morning regarding the status of Jujhar Khaira, who left the ice last night on a stretcher and was transported to Northwestern Hospital after a brutal hit by Rangers defenseman Jacob Trouba.
NEW: Jujhar Khaira has been released from the hospital.
Blackhawks statement: "Despite the significant injury, his prognosis is excellent, and we expect a full recovery. At this point, it is too early to put a timeline on return to play.”

Khaira has been released from the hospital and is expected to recover fully, which is music to all of our ears this morning. But, Khaira will miss time, and there is no timeline for his return at this point. As a result, the Blackhawks have made a handful of roster moves this morning.
Blackhawks roster moves in wake of Khaira injury:
– Hardman called up
– Kurashev called up
– Mitchell sent down
– Kalynuk sent down
– Entwistle activated from LTIR and sent down— Ben Pope (@BenPopeCST) December 8, 2021
Kurashev has tallied three points during his stint with Rockford and will likely return to the Blackhawks lineup in place of the injured Khaira when the Blackhawks are back in action on Thursday night in Montreal. Ian Mitchell averaged 17:41 minutes of ice time in three games since being recalled from Rockford earlier this month.
MacKenzie Entwistle has been on LTIR since going down with an ankle injury in early November, and his assignment to Rockford will likely serve as a defacto rehab assignment.
