After getting Marc-André Fleury back from COVID protocol a few days ago, the Blackhawks will be getting backup goaltender Kevin Lankinen back as well. Chicago interim head coach Derek King said today that Lankinen was out of COVID protocol and with the team in Columbus ahead of their game against the Blue Jackets.
Kevin Lankinen is in Columbus (saw him lugging his bags into Nationwide Arena). Blackhawks coach Derek King says he’s off COVID-19 protocol and good to go, but doesn’t have an ETA on when he’ll be in game shape.

In the absence of Fleury and Lankinen, the Blackhawks had turned to Collin Delia and Arvid Söderblom between the pipes. Needless to say, it will be nice to have the Blackhawks’ goalie group back to full-strength soon.
Lankinen has made 11 appearances for Chicago this season with a 2-5-3 record, an .884 save-percentage, and a 3.43 GAA. Chicago takes on the Columbus Blue Jackets on the road tomorrow night.
