Seth Jones was supposed to face his former club tonight when the Blackhawks faced the Blue Jackets in Columbus. That was the case until Jones reportedly tested positive for COVID earlier today. He is now expected to be out of the game tonight and will have to wait until the game that was supposed to happen on December 28 against the Blue Jackets gets rescheduled to face his former team.

Jones had played the last five and a half seasons with the Blue Jackets from 2016-2021 before being dealt this summer to Chicago. Tonight will now be the “Adam Boqvist Revenge Game” as the former Chicago defenseman faces the Blackhawks for the first time since being a part of the trade package to the Blue Jackets to acquire Jones.
Boqvist has seven goals and 14 points this season in 23 games for Columbus. His seven goals are twice as many as the leading defensemen on the Blackhawks as Seth Jones and Jake McCabe (both out of tonight’s game due to COVID) have three goals each.
