Blackhawks Roster Moves: Galvas, Slavin, and Söderblom Recalled to Chicago, Delia Reassigned to Rockford

Starting their first practice after the NHL All-Star break, the Chicago Blackhawks made a number of roster moves prior to heading to Edmonton for tomorrow night’s game against the Oilers. Goaltender Collin Delia was reassigned to the Rockford IceHogs in the AHL, while Jakub Galvas, Josiah Slavin, and Arvid Söderblom were recalled to Chicago.

Also of note, now that we are beyond the NHL All-Star break, the NHL Taxi Squads are no longer in-play for the league.

Delia made just one appearance in his second-stint with the Blackhawks this season, coming into a 5-0 game against the Minnesota Wild last week, Chicago’s final game before the All-Star break. Delia made five saves in just under eight minutes of work in the third period. He is 6-6-2 with a .910 save-percentage with the IceHogs this season.

Defenseman Jakub Galvas makes his second trip up to the NHL this season. He played in three games with Chicago in his first stint, highlighted by playing 23:40 minutes in his first NHL game on January 11. Galvas, as a rookie, has one goal and eight assists in 28 games this year with the Rockford IceHogs.

Slavin has made a number of back and forth trips between Rockford and Chicago this year, playing in ten NHL games as a rookie this season. He recorded his first NHL point with an assist in his first game on December 2, last playing in a game for Chicago on January 2. He has four goals and five assists in 25 AHL games this season.

Goaltender Arvid Söderblom has been a standout for the IceHogs this season in his rookie year. He holds an 8-7-1 record with a .926 save-percentage and a 2.62 GAA with one shutout in 16 AHL appearances. Söderblom had allowed three or more goals in eight of his first 11 appearances with the IceHogs this season, but has allowed two or fewer goals in his last five starts. He has made his first two NHL appearances with the Blackhawks this season, playing in back-to-back games on January 1 and 2, making his first NHL start on January 2. He is 0-1-0 with an .881 save-percentage in those two appearances.
