LOL: A Ref at the Hawks Game Just Got Caught on a Hot Mic

Chicago Blackhawks

No one likes getting called for a penalty, and pro athletes usually have something to say to the officials when they’re deemed guilty. Such was the case tonight at the United Center when Columbus Blue Jackets’ forward Andrew Peeke was called for holding mid-way through the first period.

Peeke let the officials know that he didn’t agree with their assessment, and was promptly told, well, you can listen for yourself, because the refs mic was still on when he responded:

As you can hear, the official was not having any of Peeke’s feedback after the holding call, with a hearty “Shut the f-” before he realized he could hear himself. The Blackhawks made sure to take advantage of the situation by scoring on the power play when Philipp Kurashev cut the Columbus lead in half.

That’s just good old fashioned fun.
