With just one game left on the Blackhawks’ schedule, the club announced this morning that they have reassigned defenseman Alec Regula to Rockford to help the IceHogs in their upcoming Calder Cup Playoff run.

Regula heading to Rockford for their AHL playoffs push was expected. The Blackhawks decided to pull the trigger rather than having the rookie blueliner travel with the team to Buffalo for the season finale Friday night.
Regula scored his first career NHL goal with the Blackhawks on April 18 against the Calgary Flames and has looked much more comfortable with the NHL game in his most recent stint with Chicago. The 21-year-old defenseman has 25 points (four goals, 21 assists) in 40 games with the Rockford IceHogs during the 2021-22 season, sharing fifth in assists and sixth in points among AHL rookie blueliners.
