This afternoon, the club announced that 2021 first and second-round draft picks Nolan Allan and Colton Dach have been assigned to Rockford.

Allan was the 32nd overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft and has spent the season with the Prince Alberta Raiders of the WHL. Allan led Raiders’ defensemen with 34 assists this season and was second among Raiders’ defensemen with 41 points. In September, the 19-year-old blueliner agreed to terms on a three-year entry-level contract with the Blackhawks. Allan helped Canada win a gold medal at the 2021 IIHF U18 World Championships while recording a goal and an assist in seven games during the tournament.

Dach spent the season with the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL, scoring 79 points (29 goals, 50 assists). Dach’s 79 points ranked 15th-best in the WHL this season and led the Rockets in points, and he was tied for the team lead in goals. In October, Dach agreed to termstract with the Blackhawks on a three-year entry-level con.

The Rockford IceHogs finished fourth in the Central Division in the AHL this season with 79 points (37-30-4-1) and will take on the Texas Stars in their opening-round series, with the winner earning a trip to take on the top-seeded Chicago Wolves. Alec Regula was assigned to Rockford by the Blackhawks last week.
