Kurashev, 22, scored six goals with 15 assists in 67 regular-season games for the Blackhawks this season. Originally a fourth-round pick (No. 120) by Chicago in the 2018 NHL Draft, Kurashev is headed to restricted free agency this summer. He has 37 points in 121 career NHL games.
Switzerland is slotted in Group A for the tournament with Canada, Germany, Slovakia, Denmark, Kazakhstan, Italy and France.
Kurashev makes five current or potentially former Blackhawks playing in the tournament. Three Blackhawks — Seth and Caleb Jones and Sam Lafferty — are on the United States roster for the tournament. Seth is the captain for the United States. Defenseman Erik Gustafsson, who is an unrestricted free agent this summer, is on the roster for Sweden.
