Lukas Reichel Showing Well At World Championship

Chicago Blackhawks

While the Blackhawks aren’t on the ice in the Stanley Cup Playoffs right now, a few players are still skating at the World Championship in Finland.

Chicago’s top prospect, forward Lukas Reichel, joined the German team after the Rockford IceHogs were eliminated from their postseason. So far, he’s having a pretty good tournament.

Through two games, Reichel has scored two goals with two assists. He’s averaging 16:39 per game with six shots on net. Both of his goals have come on the power play, and one of them is a game-winner.

Here are highlights from Germany’s win on Sunday:

Reichel had one goal and two assists in the win against Germany, his first appearance of the tournament. Here are highlights from Germany’s 9-4 win against Italy:

As you can see from both highlight videos, Reichel took the game-opening faceoff in both games. He won 12 of 22 against Kazakhstan and won eight of 14 faceoffs against Italy.

Germany’s next game is Tuesday morning (our time) against the Swiss.
