Monday morning the Chicago Blackhawks announced the dates for their 2022 Development Camp and an upcoming prospect tournament they’ll host at the Fifth Third Arena.
In the wake of the 2022 NHL Draft taking place on July 7-8, the Blackhawks’ development camp will take place at Fifth Third Arena between Monday, July 11 and Friday, July 15. This is a great time for fans to see recent draft picks and other prospects on the ice together, and it will be our first time to see (potentially) a new coaching staff and the new front office working with the next generation.
The on-ice sessions will be open for fans to attend between 10:00 AM – 12:45 PM Monday-Thursday that week with scrimmages taking place on Friday, beginning around 10 AM.
Also announced Monday, the Blackhawks will host this year’s Tom Kurver’s Prospect Showcase at Fifth Third Arena in September. This event is also expected to be open to the public. This is the second year of the Tom Kurver’s Showcase, is named after the Minnesota Wild’s assistant general manager who passed away last June after a lengthy battle with cancer. Prospects from the Blackhawks and Wild played last year in Minnesota.
There will be two games this year against the Wild’s prospects:
- Friday, Sept. 16 at 7 PM CT
- Sunday, Sept. 18 at 1 PM CT
The Blackhawks will also hold practices before these games on Sept. 14 and 15.
