Kirby Dach Trade Chatter is “Really Heating Up”
While we’re all watching the not-frequent-enough updates on the trade market for Alex DeBrincat as the Blackhawks continue trying to move back into the first round of this year’s NHL Draft — which starts in a few hours — there are rumors also swirling about other players on the roster.
For example, Kirby Dach’s name has officially entered the chat.
Dach, who was the third overall pick just three years ago, hasn’t lived up to expectations. But the organization’s lack of a proper development play during the three years of his entry-level contract didn’t do him any favors.
Still young and with size most general managers covet, it would be interesting to see what the market would be for the pending RFA.
Columbus owns two picks in the first round, including what used to be Chicago’s pick at six overall; their second first-rounder is No. 12 overall. Detroit, meanwhile, owns the eighth overall selection tonight.
