USA Hockey and other countries begin their quest to win the 2022 World Junior Championships in Edmonton with warm-up games this weekend. And the US roster will include as many as four Blackhawks prospects.
Forward Landon Slaggert was named an alternate captain for the US on Friday morning, in time for the first pre-tournament game on Friday evening. Forwards Frank Nazar and Dominic James and defenseman Wyatt Kaiser are also on the US roster.
Here’s the schedule for the United States in the tournament (including two pre-tourney games this weekend):

- Saturday, Aug. 6 — vs. Switzerland* — 6 PM CT (pre-tournament, no television)

- Thursday, Aug. 11 — vs. Switzerland — 9 PM CT (NHL Network)
- Saturday, Aug. 13 — vs. Austria — 1 PM CT (NHL Network)
- Sunday, Aug. 14 — vs. Sweden — 9 PM CT (NHL Network)

Victor Stjernborg, who was a fourth-round pick by the Blackhawks in 2021, is on the roster for Sweden. Click here for their schedule and results.
