It’s always interesting when a player decides to change agents entering the final year of his contract. But what about a player who just signed a one-year deal?
The Blackhawks signed Max Domi earlier this summer to a one-year deal. They — the club and the player — are hoping Domi can find the game that saw him score 28 goals with the Canadiens during the 2017-18 campaign. And, with the Blackhawks rebuilding, that one-year pact makes him an attractive piece at the trade deadline for teams that need grit and skill if he can be that guy once again.
So when it was announced that Domi was moving to Wasserman and agent Judd Moldaver on Tuesday, it caught our eye.
It’s worth noting that a few of the players on Moldaver’s client list include Auston Matthews, Zach Werenski and Roman Josi.
Domi will be looking for a new contract after the coming season, whether that’s in Chicago or elsewhere. So keep an eye on how things progress between the Blackhawks and Moldaver.
