The Chicago Blackhawks prospects will hit the ice at the Fifth Third Arena on Wednesday to get ready for this weekend’s Tom Kurver’s Prospect Showcase games against the Minnesota Wild.
It’s worth noting that college prospects aren’t coming back to Chicago because their respective camps have already started — and games begin in three weeks. So there’s no Drew Commesso, Frank Nazar, Aidan Thompson, Landon Slaggert, Wyatt Kaiser or other college players on the camp roster.
But there are some good names from this year’s draft class leaving their junior teams to compete in a Blackhawks sweater.
Lukas Reichel, Nolan Allan and Kevin Korchinski will both be there. So we’ve got some top picks in the house starting tomorrow.
Players who were in Rockford last year on the roster are forwards Reichel, Evan Barratt, DJ Busdeker, Riley McKay, Jakub Pour, Josiah Slavin, and defensemen Jakub Galvas and Isaak Phillips.
Reichel, Slavin, Galvas, Phillips and Alex Vlasic all saw action with the Blackhawks last year as well.
Busdeker, McKay, Joseph Serpa and Mitchell Weeks are undrafted fee agents who do not have contracts with the Blackhawks. Serpa and Weeks attended the development camp in July, however.
From the 2022 NHL Draft class, Korchinski, Paul Ludwinski, Gavin Hayes and Samuel Savoie will be in Chicago.
Ethan del Mastro played for Canada at this summer’s World Junior Championship and he’ll be in attendance.
As a reminder, all of the practices and games are open to the public at the Fifth Third Arena. Here’s the schedule:
