Earlier this week the CHL dropped their top ten rankings and, like the NCAA, the Blackhawks have prospects all over the top of the leaderboard.
3. Seattle Thunderbirds — Kevin Korchinski
The seventh overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft opened eyes at all of the Blackhawks’ camps this year, including the NHL preseason. He had 65 points in 61 games last year and his experience against NHL competition should see that number increase in Seattle this season.
6. Gatineau Olympiques — Sam Savoie
Savoie, like Korchinski, stood out at the Blackhawks’ camps from July though preseason. He saw action against NHL competition and held his own. He was a third-round pick (No. 81) by the Blackhawks this year.
9. Flint Firebirds — Gavin Hayes
Hayes was a third-round pick (No. 66) by the Blackhawks this summer. He’ll play for former IceHogs head coach Ted Dent in Flint this season and look to improve on 19 goals in 65 games last season. He has one goal and one assist in two games to start the new year.
HM. Mississauga Steelheads — Ethan Del Mastro
Del Mastro had a really good summer with the Blackhawks, ending with multiple appearances in the preseason against NHL competition. He’s the captain of the Steelheads for a second straight season.
