Okay, so waiting five games to score a goal doesn’t sound crazy. But when the rest of the team is getting on the board, there were at least a few eyeballs on Patrick Kane waiting for him to light the lamp.
Well, Kaner didn’t let the first period end before he ended that drought.
Kane also had an assist in Taylor Raddysh’s power play goal earlier in the first period, giving him a two-point period.
Andreas Athanasiou made a nice play to carry the puck deep, slam on the breaks and find 88 for the snipe and celly. The Blackhawks took a two-goal lead to the room after the first period Tuesday night.
The goal put Kaner at a historical benchmark as well.
