The good news for the Blackhawks is one goaltender is coming back from injury. The bad news is another is headed on IR.
On Monday afternoon the Blackhawks activated Petr Mrazek off IR. However, they replaced him on IR with Alex Stalock, who is in concussion protocol.
Arvid Söderblom left his last start against Winnipeg because of illness. Dylan Wells signed his first NHL contract with both Mrazek and Stalock hurt and came in to relieve Söderblom on Saturday. Wells was placed on waivers on Monday so he can go back to the AHL (I think it’s safe to assume he clears).
The Blackhawks had Sunday and Monday off from practice and don’t play again until Thursday night in Los Angeles.
