On Sunday night the Blackhawks released some additional information regarding Marian Hossa’s jersey retirement ceremony, which is slated to happen before next Sunday’s game between the Blackhawks and Penguins.
Fans with tickets to the game can arrive at the United Center Atrium for doors to open at 2:30 PM CT — much earlier than the usual door opening time for a 6 PM CT puck drop. That’s because the on-ice ceremony celebrating Hossa will begin at 4:30 PM CT.
One part of the night that might get a few laughs is a planned panel discussion with former Hossa teammates in the atrium. That’s planned to start around 3:50 PM CT.
The first 10,000 fans with tickets will receive a miniature replica No. 81 banner. If you play your cards right, yours might be legitimately autographed! Hossa is signing some of the mini banners and they’ll be handed out randomly.
If you don’t have tickets, the ceremony will also air live locally on NBC Sports Chicago and, for those outside the Chicago area, it will be carried live on ESPN+ and the NHL Network.
