The eyes of a national television audience will be on Alexander Ovechkin as he tries to come up with three goals to become the third player in NHL history to score 800. It would be pretty cool to see that in person tonight. I’ll be there.
As a reminder, Andreas Athanasiou won’t be with the team tonight because of a family funeral. So the lines are getting tossed into the blender. Petr Mrazek will return to the blue paint and Tyler Johnson will be active for the first time in 20 games, however. So we’ve got that going for us… which is nice.
