Tyler Johnson Returns to the Blackhawks Lineup Tonight

Chicago Blackhawks

After missing 20 games because of an ankle sprain, the Blackhawks will reportedly get Tyler Johnson back in the lineup tonight.

Johnson, 32, got off to a great start this season with six points in six games. And the Blackhawks’ offense has struggled since he left the lineup.

Is Tyler Johnson going to solve all of the Blackhawks’ problems? No. It appears he’ll be on the third line with Jason Dickinson and Jujhar Khaira to start the game Tuesday night against Washington and will be back on the second power play group.

I guessed this would happen when the Blackhawks announced the club has reassigned defenseman Filip Roos to Rockford on Tuesday morning. When Jarred Tinordi was activated off IR on Friday night it was a scramble drill to get him in the lineup, but the Blackhawks had one available roster spot. Tinordi filled that, so someone had to go to the AHL.
