Pre-Gamin’: Blackhawks at Blue Jackets (Noon CT) – Lineups, Broadcast Info, Game Thread, More
One way or another, the Columbus Blue Jackets will be the Blackhawks’ final victory of the 2022 calendar year. What we don’t know yet is whether that win came on Dec. 23 at the United Center or if tonight will provide a W to close out an incredibly trying year for fans and the franchise. The good news for the Blackhawks (if you’re hoping for a win): Patrik Laine won’t be in the lineup because he has COVID. And, speaking of COVID, Seth Jones is making his first appearance in Columbus since being traded to Chicago because he as sick the last time the Blackhawks made this trip.

What to Watch For
- Alex Stalock made his first start since getting hurt against the Islanders on Nov. 1 against the Jackets before Christmas and picked up the win. He was good again in St. Louis.
- The Blackhawks’ offense is awful. Also, water is wet and the sun rises in the East. Just as long as we’re stating the obvious… Chicago has scored 20 goals in 12 games in December. Ten of those 20 goals have come in two 5-2 wins, to start the month against the Rangers and against Columbus eight days ago.
- When these two teams met last week, Jonathan Toews won 18 of 25 faceoffs, scored a goal and added two assists in a completely dominant effort. Patrick Kane matched his three-point outing in the win.
