New Episode of ‘Every Shift’ Details Patrick Kane Trade
The Chicago Blackhawks have been producing a series of video content titled “Every Shift” this season, giving fans an inside look into the hockey operations of the team. On Saturday, the third episode drops and it’s a painful one to watch.
This episode shows us the front office at work, on the road, as they maneuver the trades that sent Jack Johnson to Colorado, Jake McCabe and Sam Lafferty to Toronto and, finally, Patrick Kane to the New York Rangers.
We get a look at trade calls taking place, general manager Kyle Davidson talking through scenarios with other general managers and even discussing the Rangers’ timeline for completing a deal to acquire Kane. And, finally — sadly — we get to watch and hear the phone call in which Davidson informs Kane that he’s been traded.
This episode is roughly 13 minutes long and is definitely worth watching. Here it is:
