Blackhawks 1, Lightning 3 — Three Stars, Key Takeaways

There just wasn’t much/any offense for the Hawks in the second half of a road back-to-back. And Brandon Hagel scoring into the empty net to seal the victory for the Bolts didn’t help the morale on the Blackhawks’ bench, either.

Star 1: Taylor Raddysh

He scored against his former team, his 17th of the season. After a long stretch of games without finding the back of the net he’s back on a bit of a hot streak now in Florida. It was also nice to see two of the other former Bolts players, Tyler Johnson and Cole Guttman (drafted by Tampa), get the assists on the revenge goal.

Star 2: Petr Mrazek

After facing a ton of rubber on Friday night he was back in net on the other side of the state on Saturday against a Lightning team that was looking to get back on track offensively. And, once again, he was under fire a lot in the second and third periods. He was good enough to keep his team in the game.

Star 3: Cole Guttman

Guttman won six of 13 faceoffs and picked up an assist in the arena he undoubtedly thought might be his home not too long ago. He was also credited with one hit and two takeaways.

Takeaways

  • Steven Stamkos went down awkwardly and left the ice during the first period and did not return.
  • Jujhar Khaira dropped the gloves with Erik Cernak in the third period. Both players got in a few whacks before the officials stepped in.
