Blackhawks Prospects Had A HUGE Saturday Night Offensively

Chicago Blackhawks

I thought about holding onto all of the Blackhawks’ prospect highlights for our Sunday morning bullets but there are so dang many that this is just gonna go ahead and rock it as a late night addition to the must watch list. It’s been a terrific weekend already.

The Blackhawks’ 2022 Draft Class had a terrific night on the ice. And some older draft picks had strong nights of their own in addition. All told, if you’re looking for a silver lining to this tough season in Chicago just look around at what the next wave of players is doing in junior and college and it’s really hard to not get excited.

  • Frank Nazar and Michigan smoked Ohio State 7-3. Nazar won 8 of 14 faceoffs, including this one that turned into an immediate assist. Michigan advances to the Big Ten final.
  • Jake Wise had a goal and an assist in the game for the Buckeyes. Wise also won 12 of 22 faceoffs for Ohio State. While their Big Ten season is over, the Buckeyes will almost certainly make the NCAA tournament field when it’s announced on March 19.
  • Here’s defenseman Wyatt Kaiser scoring a goal for Minnesota-Duluth. He added an assist in the game as well for a two-point night.
  • Same game, same team, different Blackhawks prospect. Here’s Dominic James scoring UMD’s third goal of the night just 16 seconds after he turned a takeaway into an assist. Yes, that’s two points in 16 seconds for James.
  • Gavin Hayes had a hat trick and an assist for the Flint Firebirds. He’s now up to 34 goals in 61 games this season.
  • Aidan Thompson had a goal in the first period and added an assist for DU as the Pioneers ran away from St. Cloud State; it was 6-2 Denver after 40 minutes. Thompson also won 10 of 14 faceoffs.
