Circle May 8 On Your Calendars, Blackhawks Fans (Bedard Time!)
According to a report on Wednesday morning, the NHL’s 2023 Draft Lottery will be held at 6 PM CT on May 8.
The prize in the draft lottery this year is Connor Bedard, one of the highest-rated prospects in league history. But the top four is where we want to be, with Adam Fantilli, Leo Carlsson and Matvei Michkov being the potential superstar consolation prizes in this year’s lottery.

As a reminder, the Blackhawks also own Tampa’s first-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft from the Brandon Hagel trade. That won’t factor into the draft lottery (because Tampa’s still really good), but Chicago isn’t banking its entire first round focus on their own pick at the top of the draft.
The NHL also announced on Wednesday that the 2023 NHL Draft Scouting Combine will take place in Buffalo from Sunday, June 4 – Saturday, June 10.
The 2023 NHL Draft will begin with the first round on Wednesday, June 28 at 6 PM CT on ESPN. Rounds 2-7 will take place on Thursday, June 29 beginning at 10 AM CT on NHL Network.
