The Blackhawks travel into Denver to face the hottest team in the NHL, the defending champion Avalanche who have won their last five games. They’ll be without Cale Makar tonight, but they’re still a wagon who are climbing the playoff seeds quickly as the rest of the Western Conference waits for them to get healthy. Will the scrappy Blackhawks pull off another upset?

Injury Report
Chicago Blackhawks
- The Blackhawks continue to be without Jonathan Toews, Petr Mrazek, Colin Blackwell, Andreas Englund, Cole Guttman, Reese Johnson, Anders Bjork and Austin Wagner.
Colorado Avalanche
- Gabriel Landeskog, Darren Helm and Erik Johnson are on IR. Cale Makar is out (day-to-day).
What to Watch For
- Jack Johnson revenge game?
- During their recent stretch of six wins in seven starts, the Avs have outscored their opponents 31-17 with the one loss being a 5-2 decision against the Kings. They’ve scored at least five goals in five of the last seven games — including their last two.
- Even without Makar, this will be a significantly faster test for the Blackhawks than Arizona was on Saturday night. Chicago has two nights off after tonight’s game in Denver.
