Blackhawks at Wild – Lineups, Broadcast Info, Game Thread

Chicago Blackhawks

We get a fun 4 PM CT start in Minnesota on a Saturday, which gives us our entire evenings to enjoy after the Blackhawks face a red-hot Wild team. Minnesota is 13-1-4 in their last 18 games and are now just one point back of Dallas for the top of the Central Division. And they’ve been doing it without Kirill Kaprisov. So look out! Ah, but this is also a welcome home game for Wyatt Kaiser. That, and the Gophers are playing at 5:30 so maybe a light crowd for the NHL game in town?

Injury Report

Chicago Blackhawks

  • The Blackhawks will not skate Philipp Kurashev (hopefully not a concussion?) in Minnesota. They continue to be without Jonathan Toews, Anders Bjork and Austin Wagner. Colin Blackwell and Cole Guttman are done for the year.

Minnesota Wild

  • Gustav Nyquist and Pavel Novak are on IR. Kaprisov, John Klingberg and Sam Steel have been out as well.

What to Watch For

  • After losing their last three games by a combined score of 15-3, will the Blackhawks give us a better effort?
  • Since February 1, the Wild are allowing 2.33 goals per game — third in the NHL. But they’re only scoring 2.58 goals per game — 28th in the league. Chicago is averaging 2.43 goals per game offensively over the same stretch, so maybe bet the under?
  • Will we get a Ryan Reaves vs Jarred Tinordi fight?
