Taylor Raddysh has been the biggest pleasant surprise offensively for the Chicago Blackhawks this season. In 78 games this season he has established career highs in goals (20), assists (17) and points (37). He was inserted into the Blackhawks’ top six right out of the gate this season and showed that he can play there every night in the NHL.
Unfortunately, his career year is over a week earlier than we hoped.
According to reports after the morning skate in Seattle, Raddysh is dealing with a groin injury that will take 10-14 days to get over. With (checks calendar, counts on fingers) six days left in the regular season, he’s done.
As it stands now, Raddysh is the only skater on the Blackhawks (now or those who have been traded away) to reach the 20-goal mark. And his 37 points lead current Blackhawks players; Patrick Kane and Max Domi had more before they were traded.
