Blackhawks Sign Arvid Söderblom To Two-Year Extension

Chicago Blackhawks

On Wednesday, the Blackhawks announced they have signed pending RFA goaltender Arvid Söderblom to a two-year contract extension at a $962,500 cap hit.

Söderblom, 23, went 15-12-5 with a 2.92 GAA and a .905 save percentage with the Rockford IceHogs this season. In 15 NHL appearances with the Blackhawks this past year, he posted a 3.45 goals-against average and a .894 save percentage.

This almost certainly locks up the Blackhawks’ depth chart in net for the coming season. One would figure Söderblom moves up to the NHL with Petr Mrazek while Drew Commesso and Jaxson Stauber hold it down in Rockford.
