Four weeks from tomorrow, the Chicago Blackhawks’ front office will approach the podium at the 2023 NHL Draft in Nashville and state the obvious. No, not that water is wet or that the sun rises in the East or that the Dallas Stars can’t win with Jamie Benn in the lineup. They’ll make Connor Bedard coming to Chicago official.
Twice in a span of a few short months (because of COVID), Bedard led Canada to gold medals at the World Junior Championship. His performance in August was remarkable; his performance in the winter edition was transcendent.
Bedard led the tournament with nine goals. His 14 assists equaled the second-highest point total in the tournament. He was amazing.
Because we don’t have any NHL hockey to watch until Saturday when the Stanley Cup Final begins in Vegas, let’s watch almost 14 minutes of Bedard highlights from the World Juniors. And yes, there’s enough for almost 14 compelling minutes here. Enjoy!
