On Friday afternoon, the Chicago Blackhawks announced the club has agreed to a two-year, one-way contract extension with forward Landon Slaggert. The deal has a $900,000 cap hit.
Slaggert, 22, appeared in 16 games with the Blackhawks after finishing a strong senior season as the captain at Notre Dame. He scored one goal with three assists with the Blackhawks.
As a reminder, because Slaggert played four years of college hockey he was only eligible for a two-year, entry-level contract. He’s in Rockford right now but this is the second season of that ELC. This deal ensures he’ll be with the organization into the future as he continues his development at the pro level.
