We only got the Bedard-Fantilli matchup once last year because of injury, but we’ll get it again on Sunday afternoon at the United Center. The Blackhawks will look to play more like they did at home against Dallas than they did in Minnesota. The Blue Jackets will bring their physical style into a big matinee game for both sides.
Today begins a busy three weeks for the Blackhawks before the Christmas break. Let’s hope they get off to a strong start.

Injury Report
Chicago Blackhawks
- Laurent Brossoit (knee) and Seth Jones (right foot) are on IR.
Columbus Blue Jackets
- Boone Jenner, Gavin Brindley and Erik Gudbranson are on IR. Yegor Chinakhov is day-to-day.
What to Watch For
- This is the first time the Blackhawks will host the Blue Jackets since Johnny Gaudreau passed. Still so heart breaking.
- Bedard and Fantilli were two of the top prospects in the 2023 draft class and played together at the World Juniors. It will be fun to see them on the ice against each other again.
- Keep your head up against the third line. Olivier is a hitter, so is Aston-Reese.
