On Monday, the NHL named the league’s three stars from last week: Cale Makar, William Nylander and Patrik Laine. Which is great for them, but… where’s the love for two Blackhawks who had great weeks??
I fully appreciate the performances of these terrific individuals. And they certainly have bigger “names” than Teuvo Teräväinen and Ilya Mikheyev. But…
Teräväinen had 10 assists and one power play goal in four games last week. Certainly averaging nearly three points per game is worthy of something… right?
Mikheyev scored five goals and added one assist for six points in four games. Four of his five goals came at even strength — the other was short-handed. Certainly that’s worthy of something… right?
Apparently not.
