Timberwolves Trade Up to No. 6 – Can Bulls Still Land White or Garland?

Chicago Bulls

Oh my goodness, Woj have mercy!

More trades, more implications, more Woj bombs:

Right after announcing that the Atlanta Hawks traded for the No. 4 pick in the draft, Woj hits us with the news that the Minnesota Timberwolves will be acquiring the No. 6 pick in the draft.

Not much changes here for the Bulls, as both the Suns and Timberwolves share a need at the point guard position, not unlike the Bulls of course. The Suns must obviously be feeling confident they’ll be able to lure in a point guard via free agency, something that was made even more evident by their trade with the Pacers earlier today (the Suns sent over TJ Warren and the No. 32 pick in the draft, relieving themselves of the three-year $35 million remaining on Warren’s contract).

Lat year, the Timberwolves relied on a point guard group of primarily Derrick Rose and Jeff Teague, but Rose is set to hit the free agent market and Teague (who opted into his $19 million player option this season) doesn’t appear to be the long-term answer at the position.

Apparently, Minnesota was making this a top priority, as Woj mentioned after breaking the trade news that Minnesota had been trying to move up into several of the top-six spots.

The question now becomes who do the Timberwolves like more, Garland or White. Well, considering the news that came from ESPN’s Jonathan Givony the other day, Minnesota was looking to get their hands on Garland.

So…. White to the Bulls?

I’m very okay with that.
