Jordans or Adidas? Everybody Wants a Piece Of Coby White

Chicago Bulls News

Coby White needs a shoe-deal. Any takers?

Well, according to ESPN’s Nick DePaula, Jordan Brand and Adidas are both knocking on the door.

White can either go join his fellow UNC-alum Michael Jordan (great choice), or team up with Adidas who currently represents many of the league’s young stars, including current teammate Zach LaVine (solid choice).

If you ask me, getting this man in a pair Jordans would be pretty dope. I wouldn’t be surprised if the new Bulls point guard is already leaning in that direction. Not only would teaming up with Jordan be a smart move for the new kid on the block in Chicago, but he’s also already accustomed to wearing the brand.

UNC’s gear is all sponsored by the Jordan brand, and as NBC Sports Chicago pointed out, White wore a pink pair of Jordan CP3.XI’ throughout his one-year as a Tar Heel.

Regardless of White’s choice, the fight for White’s signature can only be a good thing for the Bulls. If we know one thing about the addition of White, basketball aside, it’s that the guy is marketable.

We’ve already seen the Bulls take advantage of his charming, young vibe in some ways, but the more his name can be spread around the NBA universe, the better.

Over this offseason, we have already seen White participate in two high-profile training camps (Wade and CP3) as well as put together an awesome Day-in-the-life video, and even appeared on the Tonight Show before the NBA Draft. Oh, and need I mention his “wow bro” video?

White continues to make his face known around the league as one of the up-and-coming NBA Stars, and locking down a shoe deal will only add to that.

A great top-off for any rebuild is finding an organization’s next “face.” While players like LaVine and Markkanen are the guys on the court to keep an eye out for, I’d argue, neither is shaping up to be the face of the franchise that some were hoping.

So far, there’s nothing not to love about White. Jordan or Adidas, the Bulls have one heck of a young-stud to promote.
