Initiate offseason overreaction: ZACH LAVINE FOR MVP, BABY!!!
Thursday afternoon we were blessed with a highlight package of LaVine straight-up ballin’ out in an open gym pick-up game. The guy is literally doing it all.

Seeing LaVine fly past defenders to finish around the rim is nothing new, but it’s still fun to see how quick and creative his ball-handling is. The most impressive part about this video is just how well he’s sinking deeps shots from well behind the arc.
Last season, LaVine posted a pretty strong performance from downtown, shooting 37.4 percent with 5.1 attempts per game. But with his smooth shot-release, it feels like he’s capable of having an ever better go at thing this year. He’s had better shooting percentages from long range in previous years, and last year’s abysmal situation led to LaVine having to take matters into his own hands by taking the ball toward the basket.
The addition of a true facilitator like Tomas Satoransky (or eventually Coby White) could open the door for LaVine to have easier three-point looks.
Anyway, the only thing I need to see now is a reel of him stealing and swatting basketballs to show he’s been working on his defensive game as well.
