Time for your daily Wendell Carter Jr. health update!
“Carter (tailbone) and Harrison (hamstring) did not practice today.
I held Valentine out today, like I did with Otto and Thad yesterday. He will play tomorrow.” – Coach Boylen pic.twitter.com/0Mm0UXAl04

The Bulls second-year big man has now participated in just one full day of Training Camp this season: A tweaked ankle cut Carter Jr.’s first day of camp short. And while he returned for normal practice on Day 2, he reportedly fell twice on his tailbone, which has now sidelined him for each of these past two days. Oof. Can this guy catch a break? (Michael: I see you’re temping fate with that one).
Yesterday, the Bulls labeled Carter Jr.’s injury as day-to-day, and it appears that’s how it will remain moving forward.
Elsewhere, Shaquille Harrison also suffered a minor injury, tweaking his hamstring during Thursday’s practice and was therefore held off the court today. It appears Harrison will also be evaluated on a day-to-day basis.
Despite that frustrating news, it sounds like the Bulls had one of their better Training Camp practices today.
“I thought our conditioning showed up today. We had a shorter, but crisp practice.” – Coach Boylen

If you told me before this week that Jim Boylen would end practice early, I would have seriously questioned his “spirit” and “character.”
However, one of the strangest revelations during Training Camp has been Boylen’s rather “laid back” mood, or at least that’s how NBC Sports Chicago’s Mark Strotman puts it. Sure, we’ve had some oddly worded quotes or phrases, but nothing that’s forced us to do that thing where you rub the roof of your nose and suck in through your teeth.
Don’t worry, there is plenty of time for things to turn south, but I’m never going to complain about getting a relatively normal Boylen!
